My assignments range from legal texts, reports and documents related to parliamentary business to specialist information, web content and public communication campaigns.​

Translating for a federal institution means combining linguistic precision with an understanding of each text’s purpose and institutional context, while adhering to the linguistic and editorial conventions of the Swiss federal administration. In specialist and legal texts, terminological accuracy and formal requirements must go hand in hand with clarity, readability and an awareness of the intended audience, while respecting the particularities of Italian as an official language.

One example is my complete Italian translation of the current federal suicide prevention campaign. Work of this kind calls for particular care, not only in the use of specialist terminology, but also in tone, context and the implications of individual language choices.
