PROJECTS

JazzAscona

Founded in 1975 as “Festa New Orleans,” the festival has become one of the leading jazz events in Switzerland. With international musicians — many from the United States — and a diverse audience from across Switzerland, language plays a central role in how the festival is perceived. Communication does not simply transmit information; it actively shapes the experience of JazzAscona.

JazzAscona — Festival Voices

JazzAscona draws on the music and culture of New Orleans, bringing to life the so-called “New Orleans Experience”: a vibrant space where performance, encounter and storytelling naturally intertwine.

Within this context, I conducted artist interviews in English, Italian, and Swiss German, developed in both editorial and audiovisual formats in collaboration with CISA Film Academy Locarno. At the same time, I worked in the press office, producing journalistic content and translating press releases and articles for local and national media, helping ensure a consistent voice across stage, audience and press.

The work focused on translating the spirit of the festival into clear, accessible language that moves across linguistic boundaries without losing intensity. The result is communication that does not simply accompany the event, but actively shapes its narrative and cultural dimension.
